Here I am!!!

I am back! Sorry I haven't been keeping up with my blog. We don't have exciting news to share!

Seth is looking forward to summer vacation! He has 17 more days! He is also exciting about his birthday! He is counting down the days! We will have his birthday party at his aunt and uncle's lake house. He has been asking to have his party there and he got his wish! Thanks to Aunt Lucy and Uncle Gary!

My grandma died on May 4th. She fell and hit her head and had severe bleeding in her brain. My mom, aunt and uncle decided to take her off the life support machine and let her go peacefully. She has had three hip surgeries in maybe 6 months. My grandpa died 14 months ago. I would have never thought she will be gone this soon! I have gotten real close with my grandma and appreciate her more now that I am older. I will MISS her!

Rylie is growing up too fast! She is a princess! She has grown a lot. People keep telling me that she is tall. When she had her 2 years old check up, doctor has mentioned that she is tall and is off the chart a little. Amy and I signed up for her to go school when she turns 3. We are waiting to hear to see if she is accepted. She has to be 3 which won't be til October and the first day of school is in August and they have to decide if they want or can hold her a spot til she turns 3. Crossing fingers! We want her to have the same teacher who taught Seth.

Seth is getting exciting about being a Kindergarten this fall. He has been doing real good in school. He is starting to read books. He is now working on Kindergarten "bagging" book. He has the desire to learn! We are very proud of him!!!

We are ready for summer to get here! We haven't made any plans but hope to go to the beach for a week in our travel trailer.

That's all for now! Hope I won't wait too long to blog with news!

Rylie's bed, Seth's room and Hiking

We went hiking last Sunday. It was nice and cool. Kids had good time. Kids loved the creek and the waterfall. Amy and I were very tired walking back because Seth and Rylie were too tired to walk and we had to carry them!
Seth finally got his army room. He loves it! He said to me "I never want to change this room ever again!" I painted "SETH" on his wall. I thought I did good job! We are not done. We have four framed pictures to hang up. We are still looking around for some army pieces to add to his room.
We changed Rylie's daybed into full sized bed. She loves it! She thinks she is a big girl now! My grandma was kind to let Rylie have the mattress!

Sorry I haven't blog lately! Amy got sick with the FLU and had to miss two and half days of work! She was SICK! She stayed in the bed most of the time! She is much better and is back to work. I did get sick with colds and coughs but no fever. I am better now!

Seth and I went to Virginia for my basketball tournament. My team played against two other teams. We won the tournament and we get to go to California for national championship. I decided not to go since money is tight.

Seth will start baseball again this year. I was asked to coach his team! I am looking forward to it! I am waiting on the schedule and team roster from the director. It will be a fun experience for me!

Seth is now taking swimming lessons. He loves swimming. He has 6 evening classes. Tonight will be his third. Rylie can't take swimming lessons til she turns 3.

We are going to attempt gardening this year! We asked a friend to plow for us. He has started and is not finished. He will come back this Thursday and try to finish. We plan to plant green beans, cantelope, cucumbers, tomatoes, squash, zucchini, and roma lettuce. I think it will be fun to watch them grow! Kids will enjoy the garden. I will post pictures soon!

Yesterday morning, Amy and Seth had a conversation. Amy asked Seth if he would be her baby FOREVER! He said no because he wants to be a daddy. Amy asked how many children does he want? Seth said 3 and Amy said how about 10 children? He said no, I might not remember their names.

Trevor celebrated his FIRST birthday on February 12th! We had a little party that night. He liked the cupcake. I will post video and pictures sometime this weekend.

Amy, Seth, Rylie and I are going to Monster Jam today! Seth has been looking forward to it for sooo long!!! He is going to love it! I am not sure about Rylie but I think she will do okay. We are going to borrow my dad's headphones so it won't hurt their ears.

My mom went back to the hospital last week and is still there! Heather and I visited her last night. She had busted appendix and the doctor removed it. She stayed for few days and went home. She had to go back since she couldn't breathe so they found that she had fluid in one of her lung and it collapsed. They put a big tube in her so it can be drained out. Well, all the fluid wouldn't come out so doctor did a procedure on Wednesday and it didn't work so they had to do surgery on Thursday to get the fluid out. She spent some time in the ICU and is in regular room last night. She is in pain and is hoping she is getting better not worse! We hope she will finally be able to come home on Monday or Tuesday!

Happy Valentine Day to you all!!!!!

I had good long weekend! Amy and kids came and visit with me on Friday. It was only hour and half drive. It was great to see them! I am trying to catch up with my sleep! Only slept 5 to 6 hours per night while I was away. I was chaperoning 11 girls. The girls were great and I really enjoyed them! I am happy to be back in my own bed and bathroom! I admit I do have OCD when it comes to bathroom! I can't stand hair or dirty in sight!

I just found out this morning that my mom had emergency surgery last night! The doctor had to remove her infected appendix. She has to stay at the hospital til tomorrow or Friday since it was very infected and wanted to see if it hasn't spread in her body. We will go see her this afternoon. Hope she will be okay.

Seth has his last basketball game this Saturday. He had his last practice last night and I see he has improved some. He is ready for basketball to be finished. I think I am going to sign him up for indoor soccer if they allow 4 years old.

Monday, January 19, 2009

Wednesday, I will be going out of town for 4 nights and 5 days! I will be working. It will be the first time I am away from Rylie! We have never been apart! I am going to miss my babies! I hope I will be okay! There will probably be some times when I feel homesick! BUT when the paycheck comes, I will be glad I went! Amy will be taking two days off from work so she can spend some time with the kids while I am away! I know she is looking forward to it.

Seth is off from school for three days this week! He is very happy about that! He likes school but much prefer stay home! We can't believe he will be in kindergarten this Fall! He will be 5 in 4 more months! I look at him sometimes and wonder where time went! Our first born son is growing up too fast! He is now trying to read and identify words. He loves to do his homework. His teacher has said he is very interested in trying to read. We are very proud of him!

Rylie... We hope she will be going to pre-k this October. I have to apply in Feb to hold a spot for her. The 4 years olds are free but for 3 years olds, we have to pay. We are thinking about Mon, Wed and Fri for her. She can't go til she turns 3 which means she can't go when school opens but wait til Oct 3rd. I think she will love school. When I take Seth, she wants to stay.

Hope everyone is in good health! Everyone has been sick! I had the 24 hr stomach virus last week. I threw up more than 10 times! That was not fun!

Stay warm!

Christmas

We had good Christmas this year! We had to wake Seth and Rylie up since we were on schedule! They tiptoe into living room and saw what Santa got them. Santa was good and gave Seth and Rylie some new toys! Seth said his favorite gifts were bat cave and truck with trailer. He also loves his digital camera. Rylie hasn't shown any favorites yet. They got new movies. "The Cat in the Hat" is their favorite. They have seen it several times already! We had busy Christmas eve and day! Christmas eve, we went to Dada's house to visit for short time then we went to Amy's grandma for dinner. Got home around 9:30. We went to my grandma for Christmas lunch then on to Granna's house. After that, we went to Heather and Maryrose's for Christmas dinner! We all were very tired by Friday and stayed home for 2 days!

Rylie's FIRST haircut!!!

Before first haircut

After first haircut

We took Rylie to her very FIRST haircut! Her hair was getting out of control and couldn't do anything to it. We were amazed she did not even cry or fight to get her haircut. She was awesome! When Seth had his first haircut, he cried and cried!!! Seth had his at 15 months old. Rylie got hers at 26 months. She looks so cute!!! like a little girl!
Seth usually goes to a barber but he wanted one yesterday since he wanted to sit in a firetruck.

Sick Seth!!!

I have been meaning to post sooner but ended up doing other things! Seth had been out of school since Tuesday! He was warm when I picked him up on Monday from school. Early Tuesday morning, he woke up with fever so he stayed home. He did not have any symptoms but fever. I asked him if his ears or throat hurts, he said no. Early Wednesday morning, he ran fever again so I called the doctor and brought him in. He think it was viral infection since Seth's throat was a little swollen from the outside of his neck. He did not act or look sick except for fever. Doctor said to bring him back on Friday if he still has fever. I couldn't take him to school unless he was free from fever for at least 24 hours. I was so sure he would go to school on Thursday. No! He woke up 1:30 am with fever of 101.5 so I gave him some Motrin and water and we went back to sleep. Called the doctor yesterday and brought him in. Nurse pricked his finger. His result came back normal so doctor is pretty sure that the viral is taking Seth longer to recover. Yesterday was actually the first day he looks and acts sick!!! I think he will not be playing his second basketball game this morning because he is starting to cough. Rylie is starting to cough too! I hope he will be better so he can go back to school on Monday for his last week before Christmas holiday!

I have some pictures that I need to post. I will do that soon!

Basketball & Sick

I played two basketball games this past Saturday. I felt good that I can still play!!! I think I am much better than when I was in high school! My team won both games. We will play in another tournament in Feb. and March. If we win in March, we will play in April.

Seth is sick! He woke up Saturday morning with fever. He missed his basketball practice. Amy stayed home with him and Rylie while I played. Sunday, he told me that his throat hurts so I took a flashlight and look inside his throat and it was red. I called the doctor yesterday and got him an appointment. He has strep throat infection. He is to take medicine for 10 days! He hates it!!! He is much better today and will go back to school tomorrow!

His practice was suppose to be tonight but just found out that the gym is setting up for a science fair so it has been cancelled. I am glad because it would have been two practices he missed!

I can't believe Christmas is coming!!! Amy and I are done with our shopping except for our neice and nephews. We will be going to Dada (grandma) and Poppa F. for Thanksgiving this year. Look forward to good home-cooked dinner! Seth is looking forward playing with Connor.

Basketball and birthdays!!!

Seth had his very FIRST basketball practice last night. I enjoyed watching him trying to learn how to play! At first, I was told that there are no basketball team for his age and he has to be 5. Last week, someone emailed and said have a spot for Seth since other teams are allowing some 4 years old to play. I was thrilled because I wanted Seth to learn and see if he likes basketball. Last night was the team's 2nd practice but Seth's first because he joined late.
His first game should be on December 6th. I haven't got the schedule yet. He seems to enjoy the practice because it was ongoing.

Yesterday was my mom's birthday! She turned 57! I know she doesn't read the blog because she doesn't have access to internet. Happy Birthday to you, Mom!!!!

We have another birthdays to celebrate this Friday!
Nickie (my step- twosister) and Missie!!!
Happy Birthday to you both!!!!! Nickie will be 36 and Missie will be 35!!! Won't be long before we turn the big 40!!!!

Camping

We just got back from camping. The campground we stayed at was nice! We stayed on top of the mountain and the view was awesome! I learned how to play disc golf for the first time yesterday with three friends. They were very helpful and taught me how to play. The first round was difficult because I didn't know how to operate the disc. The second round was much better. I got the hang of how to throw the disc but my aims were off! My arms are sore today! It is a good feeling! I like how disc golf is played. It is like golf but use disc. I am going to practice and learn more about it. (I will post pictures. I am waiting on a friend to send me pictures since Heather took the camera on their trip)

We took Jerry (Amy's dad) with us to camping. He loves outdoor and made fire for us two nights. It was nice sitting by the fire. We made smores the first night. He took a shower in our travel trailer the first day and decided it was too small for him so this morning he decided to shower in the public bathroom.

I am suppose to play basketball this Saturday. I am on a women team and the coach "said" there are 3 teams playing this Saturday for small regional tournament. I sure hope I can last 4 quarters! I am looking forward to play because I need the excerise! I practiced last Sunday and afterwards I felt real good! Yes, I can run!!!

Tuesday, November 4, 2008

Last week I had parent conference with Seth's teacher. Seth is doing remarkably well in school! He knows his ABC's. He knows all his ABC finger spelling. He can recognize the letters in writing and finger spelling and put them in order without assist. He is ready for his "sight" words so he will be ready for Kindergarten. We are so proud of him! The only thing we are concern is his ability to write his name! He has no interested in writing so his grip is kinda weak. His teacher gave him some clay for him to exercise his hands while he watch TV. He has no problem cutting with scissors which is why we were not referred to OT. He can write his name but it is not strong enough on paper. We are happy to know he is a smart boy because he is doing everything right on track except for writing but he is only 4!

We are going camping this weekend! We invited Jerry (Amy's dad) to join us since the ladies and little man left us this morning!!!! They went to visit Maryrose's son and friends up north. They will be back next Monday.
We miss the little man already!

Did you vote today? Amy and I did our duty last Saturday. We waited in the line for about 45 minutes. We voted for Obama. We really wanted Hillary Clinton to be the president. If Obama were smart, he would have asked her to be his Vice President. I bet you Obama regrets not asking Clinton. We shall see who wins tonight!!!!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

BE SAFE OUT THERE! WE ARE GOING TO TWO HALLOWEEN EVENTS STARTING AT 2 TODAY. I ASKED SETH IF HE WANTED TO GO TRICK OR TREAT IN OUR NEIGHBOR OR GO TO A CHURCH PARTY WITH A FRIEND, HE CHOSE TO GO TO THE PARTY WITH HIS FRIEND. HE SAID I HAVE TO GO BECAUSE HIS FRIEND MIGHT NOT HAVE A KEY. (I AM GUESSING A KEY TO OUR HOUSE, HE DOESN'T LIKE TO BE WITHOUT HIS MOMMY!)

ANOTHER CUTE THING SETH SAID LAST WEEK. HE ASKED HOW OLD I WAS AND THEN ASKED HEATHER HOW OLD SHE WAS. HE SAID "THAT'S EXPENSIVE!"
I COULD EAT HIM UP! HE IS SO CUTE!!!

SETH DECIDED TO BE A FOOTBALL PLAYER. HE WAS SUPPOSE TO BE A COWBOY THEN DECIDED TO BE A BATMAN AGAIN LIKE LAST YEAR THEN CHANGED HIS MIND AND BE A CLOWN. TODAY HE WILL BE A FOOTBALL PLAYER. RYLIE WILL STILL BE A PRETTY FAIRY!

ENJOY YOUR HALLOWEEN!! HAVE FUN GOING TRICK OR TREAT OR GIVING OUT CANDIES!!!

Camping

We went camping this past weekend. We had great time! The campground had Halloween activites for kids. Seth played in some games. He did good! It rained all day Friday but we still enjoyed the day. There were lots of activities on Saturday. It was chilly and sunny. Kids got to dress up. Seth went as a fireman, Rylie as a fairy and Trevor was an inchworm. Sorry there was no picture of Seth in his costume. He didn't want his picture taken. I dressed up as a clown. Seth has decided he wants to be a clown when he goes trick or treating in our neighborhood on Oct. 31st. We did not want to leave. Everytime we stayed in our travel trailer, we felt so relaxed! We might go back camping in two weeks. Just 4 of us while Heather, Maryrose and Trevor go out of town to visit Maryrose's son and friends.

Pumpkins

The kids got Pirate and princess potato head pieces from their aunt Dana to put on their pumpkins. They really enjoyed doing that. I wanted to carve a pumpkin so we got a third one. Seth picked out a spooky house stencil. It looks good when it's dark and has light in it. I will try and take pic of it when it's dark.

We are looking forward to camping this weekend! Seth gets to miss school this Friday and he is excited about that! We decided to leave on Thursday after Amy gets home from work instead of Friday. We felt that two nights will not be enough! The camp site have halloween event/party and it should be fun!

Corn Maze

We went to a corn maze. The kids had great time! We found our way out! We went on a hayride, picked out three pumpkins. The weather was perfect!
